About me
I have been working in the field of mental health and well-being since 2006. I completed my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath (UK) and have worked in a range of settings, including schools, hospitals (mental health and oncology) and clinics. I have a warm, friendly, approachable style, and draw from a range of evidence-based therapies, tailored to suit each individual’s needs.
I provide a person-centered and evidence-based approach. I have extensive experience and training in using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, including mindfulness-based approaches, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Compassion-Focussed Therapy. I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing,(EMDR), a therapy with good evidence for treating trauma symptoms. Ideas from person-centred therapy also play a key role in my work, in that I believe that you are the expert in you, and together we can collaborate to reach your goals.
I provide comprehensive assessment and therapy for adults and adolescents experiencing the following types of difficulty:
· Anxiety and worry
· Depression and low mood
· Obsessive compulsive disorder
· Panic attacks
· Health anxiety
· Trauma (including post-traumatic stress disorder)
· Phobias
· Stress related to work, change and relationships
· Low self-esteem
· Insomnia
· Bereavement and loss
· Difficulties relating to physical illness (including pain, fatigue, and adjustment to diagnoses)
· Eating disorders/difficulties
