About me
At the age of 23, I completed my studies in Industrial Engineering and then worked in the field of fuel cells and solar energy. I soon realized that working with people brought me more joy, so at the age of 29, I started studying psychology. During my studies, I completed a two-year training in client-centered counseling at a crisis hotline, where I volunteered for five years, as well as a one-year training in hypnotherapy with the German Society for Hypnosis. As part of my master's thesis, I interviewed young adults from the townships in South Africa about the traumas they experienced there. I followed this with a doctoral dissertation, for which I learned Narrative Exposure Therapy and conducted trauma therapy with young South African offenders as part of the study. To continue clinical work, I completed training as a psychological psychotherapist, during which I worked for two years in the trauma outpatient clinic and on the ward for trauma-related disorders and somatoform disorders at the Münsterlingen Psychiatric Clinic. The training also included an additional 2-3 years of independent work in an outpatient teaching practice. In 2020/21, I led various Training-of-Trainer workshops in Senegal, where African professionals were trained in conducting Narrative Exposure Therapy. After obtaining my license (2021), I worked for two years at the Hener&Lassonczyk psychotherapeutic group practice. In parallel, I completed a one-year training in animal-assisted psychotherapy and have been working with my dog Shelly ever since.
