About me
Dr Paulina Buffle has experience in the following areas:
Assessment of children, adolescents and adults, with difficulties in social interaction and/or an autism spectrum condition.
Assessment of very young children born prematurely, of younger siblings of children with a diagnosis of autism, and assessment of the socio-cognitive development of children with certain genetic syndromes.
Post-diagnostic support and coaching for parents, to guide them towards appropriate support and specific intervention models for their child.
Support for parents and teachers, in teaching pupils and students with specific educational needs in schools and universities.
Support adults with autism, to introduce reasonable adjustments in their workplace.
Education
Doctorate in psychology (FPSE, University of Geneva) and a Master of Science in clinical and developmental psychology (FPSE, University of Geneva).
She has been trained in the use of several tests of cognitive, social and sensorimotor development, and in the application of several evaluation tools specific to autism, such as the ADOS, the ADI-R and the BOSA.
Teaching experience
Paulina has experience in training health professionals in the identification and diagnosis of autism, in university teaching and in supervising Masters-level psychology students.
Scientific contributions
She is the author of a review of the international literature on "Good Practice in the Identification and Diagnosis of Autism", published in 2021, and a "Practical Guide to the Identification, Diagnosis and Support of Young Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder", published in 2023. She is also the principal author of a guide to Good Practice in distance parent coaching specifically for autism in low- and middle-income contexts.

Intercultural experience
Paulina has carried out assessments, guided families and supervised the implementation of intervention projects for children and adolescents with a diagnosis of autism in different countries such as Switzerland, Spain, Ecuador, Mexico, the United States, France and the United Kingdom.

She is an active member of the International Society for Autism Research, where she regularly presents the results of her scientific work (www.autism-insar.org).
She is also a ful member of the British Psychological Society (www.bps.org.uk) and the American Society of Developmental and Behavioural Paediatrics (www.sdbp.org).
