About me
Welcome, my name is Josée van den Hurk. I have been working as a psychological psychotherapist for more than 15 years and have experience in emergency, residential and ambulatory psychiatry. As a result, I have learnt to work with a wide variety of people. I currently work in the Zeughaus practice in Zurich, but also offer online sessions.
I grew up in Geneva with Dutch parents. Due to the international environment, I speak different languages and have learnt about the respective cultures.
It is important to me that you feel comfortable and accepted in my sessions. I am happy to support you in getting to know your own emotions and needs and help you to achieve your wishes and improve your quality of life. I like to work with different methods that can be combined well with the behavioural therapy approach. For example, I like to use mindfulness, relaxation exercises as well as transactional analysis and systemic methods. My favourite topics are anxiety, depression, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive disorder, eating disorders, giftedness, pregnancy complications, the desire to have children, parenting advice, but also stress and exhaustion.
I am married, 53 years old and have two children aged 13 and 18. My hobbies are skiing, hiking, theatre, music and travelling.
Education:
Psychology studies at the University of Fribourg
Main subject: clinical psychology
Minor subject: general and educational psychology
2nd minor subject: neurobiology
Postgraduate training incognitive-behavioral therapy and behavioral medicine at the Psychological Institute of the University of Zurich
