About me
About my work
Psychotherapy, for me, begins with a simple question: What is actually going on here? Not only on the surface, but in what keeps repeating itself – in thoughts, emotions, in the way a person relates to themselves and to others.
Many people come to therapy because they already understand a great deal about themselves, yet still find themselves in the same situations again and again. This is where I begin. My focus is not only on reducing symptoms, but on understanding why certain patterns persist and how they can be changed in a concrete and lasting way.
I work in an integrative way. My postgraduate training in psychotherapy is in cognitive-behavioural and systemic therapy. I completed my undergraduate training abroad at a psychoanalytically oriented university, which continues to shape my understanding of biographical and unconscious processes. These different perspectives allow me to address both current symptoms and underlying patterns in a differentiated and targeted manner.
For over 25 years, I have worked with people in challenging life situations, with psychological disorders, and during phases of personal transition. My way of working is structured and clear, while remaining open to what emerges in the therapeutic process. The aim is to make connections understandable without oversimplifying them, and to develop and consolidate concrete changes in everyday life step by step.
I work with adolescents and adults in a wide range of situations – from acute distress to long-standing difficulties and recurring internal conflicts. My practice is open to people from diverse backgrounds, life situations and identities, including LGBTQ+ individuals as well as international and multilingual contexts. Therapy is available in German, Spanish, English, Italian and Portuguese.
Psychological assessments
In addition to psychotherapy, I provide psychological assessments for children, adolescents and adults from the age of 7.
A particular focus lies on the assessment of attention and concentration difficulties (ADHD). The evaluation also includes a differentiated assessment of cognitive functioning, including intellectual abilities, as well as the analysis of learning and performance profiles.
The assessment is based on standardized and norm-referenced testing procedures from established publishers (e.g. Hogrefe, Pearson) as well as computer-based diagnostics, and is complemented by a careful clinical evaluation. It therefore goes beyond interview-based assessment and allows for a thorough and differentiated understanding.
The results are summarized in a written report, including a clear diagnostic formulation and concrete recommendations for everyday life, school, training or work. Depending on the case, this may also include recommendations regarding accommodations in educational contexts, as well as – in collaboration with medical professionals – suggestions for further treatment.
