Here are some clarifications for those, who would like to proceed to psychotherapy refunded by basic insurance:
1. The first step is to obtain a prescription from your doctor. Keep in mind that not all doctors are authorized to provide prescriptions for psychotherapy. It's advisable to check with your doctor and seek their guidance if they're unable to issue the prescription.
2. Typically, the initial prescription covers 15 sessions. If required, a second prescription for an additional 15 sessions can be obtained without much hassle. If your therapeutic needs exceed 30 sessions in a year, a more comprehensive assessment involving doctors and insurance will take place, leading to a separate decision.
3. To streamline the process, consider asking your doctor to include either the organization's name or the specific therapist you intend to work with on the prescription. If you're opting for sessions with me, it would be great if the prescription mentioned: CTAS, Rue Jacques-Dalphin 36, 1227 Carouge, Geneva.
4. Here's a link to the typical prescription format [https://www.psychologie.ch/sites/default/files/2022-06/anordnung_psychologische_psychotherapie_version_1.0_fr_0.pdf].
Once you've obtained the prescription, reach out to me, and we'll coordinate to schedule the sessions, either in person or online, depending on your circumstances.
For couples considering insurance-covered counseling, please keep in mind, that it is also possible:
1) Both partners will need to obtain prescriptions from their respective doctors.
2) The fees for couple counseling are usually split evenly between both partners' insurance policies.
I hope this information proves useful to you.
warm regards,
Anastasiia Avazashvili
